Most people have accounts with a
few different social networking sites. These accounts don’t always have to
operate completely independently of one another. The social network Pinterest,
for example, allows you to automatically post anything that you do to your
Facebook account’s main news feed. Friends on that particular service can then
see what you’ve been up to, even if they don’t have Pinterest accounts of their
own. You can set up this account linking option directly from your main
Pinterest account page.
Step 1
Load your main Pinterest account
profile page in your Internet browser of choice.
Step 2
Click on your “Account” button at
the top of the screen. Select the button labeled “Settings” from the menu to
advance to your Pinterest account settings page.
Step 3
Scroll down to the bottom of your
“Settings” page. One of the last sections will have the heading “Facebook.” The
first option in this portion of the window will read “Login with Facebook.” The
second option will read “Publish activity to Facebook Timeline.” The button
next to this second option will be grey and will read “Off.”
Step 4
Click the “Off” button one time.
A new window will pop up in your browser requesting access to your Facebook
page. Additionally, you will be prompted to log into the Facebook service if
you have not already done so. Provide your Facebook username and password to
continue.
Step 5
Click the blue button reading
“Add to Facebook.” The application necessary to allow your Pinterest activity
to get published in your Facebook timeline will be added to your Facebook
account. You may close the small window on screen and return to your Pinterest
“Settings” page. The button next to the “Publish activity to Facebook Timeline”
option will now be red and will read “On.”
