You can take your website as it
exists on the Blogger service and import it over to your WordPress account in
just a couple of minutes. All of your posts and other types of content will
remain intact. Instead of being hosted on Blogger’s own domain, your site will
then be hosted on WordPress.com. The WordPress site has a specific tool already
in place to allow you to complete this process with minimal stress whenever
you’d like.
Step 1
Open your Internet browser and
navigate to the main WordPress site. Log in to your WordPress account if you
have not already done so. Click the “My Blog” tab at the top of the screen to
view a list of all the blogs associated with your account. Click the grey link
reading “Dashboard” under the site where you want your imported Blogger site to
go.
Step 2
Scroll down to the bottom of the
page and select the link reading “Tools” from the left side of the screen. The
“Tools” option will expand into a larger category in this column labeled
“Available Tools.” Click the button labeled “Import” from this section to
continue.
Step 3
Click the link labeled “Blogger”
at the top of the main “Import” page. The “Blogger” option allows you to import
not only the posts from your Blogger site but all comments and users as well.
Step 4
Click the “Browse” button at the
bottom of the page if you want to import your Blogger site from a Blogger
export file. If you manually created a backup of your site using the Blogger
account interface, click the “Browse” button to select the file. Click the
button labeled “Upload file and import” to import your site into your WordPress
account.
Step 5
Click the button labeled
“Authorize” if you want to import your Blogger site without using a Blogger
export file. The “Authorize” button will give WordPress the permission it needs
to access your account and obtain the necessary information. Click the button
labeled “Grant Access” in the screen that loads to continue.
Click the button labeled “Import”
next to any blog that you want to import into your WordPress account. All
associated posts, comments and user databases will immediately become available
in the main WordPress user interface.
