One of the best parts of any
social network is interacting with all of your friends. Pinterest is relatively
new and is still gaining popularity, so all of your friends may not necessarily
have their own accounts. Pinterest allows you to use your e-mail and social
network contacts from a variety of different services to invite your friends to
create their own accounts on the rising social network. You can accomplish this
by following just a few steps using tools that are present on your main
Pinterest account page.
Step 1
Click the “Username” button in
the upper right corner of your main Pinterest homepage. Instead of literally
saying the word “Username,” the label on the button will be your own first
name. Click the “Invite Friends” button in the drop down menu to continue.
Step 2
If you know the e-mail addresses
of some friends that you’d like to invite to Pinterest, enter those e-mail
addresses into the boxes on screen at this time. You can send Pinterest invites
in waves of four at a time. Compose a personal message to the specified friends
in the box at the bottom of the screen. Click the red button labeled “Send
Invites” to send each of those specified friends a new invitation e-mail,
complete with the personal message you composed.
Step 3
Click the “Facebook” button on
the left side of the screen to invite friends to Pinterest using your Facebook
contacts. You can click on the names of friends in the window that appears to
automatically send out invitations. You can also search for a friend by name,
similar to the way you would do so if you were actually logged in to your
Facebook profile.
Step 4
Click the “Gmail” button on the
left side of the screen to invite friends to Pinterest using your Google Gmail
account. Click the blue button labeled “Find Friends from Gmail” on the page
that loads to start browsing through your Gmail contacts list for people you
want to invite to the Pinterest service. Select the name of a person to send
him a personalized Pinterest invitation.
Step 5
Click the button labeled “Yahoo!”
on the left side of the screen to invite people from your Yahoo e-mail contacts
list to the Pinterest service. The page that loads will operate identically to
the one that were loaded in the “Gmail” step.
