How to Find Your Friends on Pinterest

Finding your friends on the Pinterest photo sharing social network is easy. A tool designed for this specific purpose is built right into your main Pinterest account page. All you have to do is provide the tool with the relevant information to locate the profiles of all your friends. You can then start communicating with them on Pinterest. You can also send photos and other items back and forth between your two accounts whenever you find something that you think a particular friend needs to see.

Step 1

Log in to your Pinterest profile using either your Internet browser or your mobile application on a device like an iPhone or iPad. Use whichever steps you would to log in to your account under regular circumstances.

Step 2

Click the red “pin” icon at the top of the screen. The red “pin” icon essentially functions as a “Settings” button. The drop down menu on screen contains a list of options relating to changes you can make to the way your Pinterest account functions.

Step 3

Click the “Facebook” button from the left column to search your Facebook profile for Pinterest friends. Any “Friend” that you have on Facebook that also has a Pinterest account will appear in the window on screen. Click on the name of a friend to view their Pinterest profile. Note that if you are not currently logged in to your Facebook account you will be prompted to do so at this time.

Step 4

Click the “Gmail” and “Yahoo!” buttons on the left side of the screen to search for friends on Pinterest using your contacts lists from those e-mail providers. Pinterest will use the e-mail addresses in your e-mail contacts lists to search for existing profiles on the service that were created using those specific addresses. Any profiles that are found will be displayed in the window on screen. You will be prompted to log in to your e-mail accounts at this time if necessary before you can continue. Click on the e-mail address or name of one of your friends in the list on screen to view their existing profile.
